The development of new technologies has spawned a new type of hazard, both for businesses and for the ultimate consumer: private systems hacking. It is in most cases an intrusion on the system of the victim. The attacker is then able to use the computer as if it referred was the owner, but without permission. Consequences can be dramatic both on a commercial and individual scale.
Computer security includes all the technical skills and methodologies to ensure the integrity of automated information systems of all types, and to protect against the piracy threat.
Hacking can be defined as the passion of young minds looking for dynamic, often amateur spirits looking for software vulnerabilities, and solutions to prevent users from such dangers. It is also a will of sharing information with the general public, intended to provide everyone the opportunity to understand, learn, and participate to develop new security technologies.
“Night da Hack” comes from a rough translation from French “Nuit du Hack”. Started in 2003 by Hackerz Voice team, and inspired by world famous DEF CON, “Nuit du Hack” is one of the oldest French underground hacking conference.
Around computer security related talks, workshops and contests, Night da Hack aims at bringing together corporate IT professionals and hackers, no matter their skill-level. They will discover the latest technical advances in this area and assess their skills.
In order to improve both quality and accessibility of this event, the 2010 edition will be for the first time open to international talks and workshops.
In general, work for better understanding and continuous improvement of security systems using new technologies.
